Tree assessment
As part of the QCAT tree dispute resolution process, a QCAT member may order that a tree assessor visit the site of the tree with the applicant and the owner of the neighbouring land.
Tree assessors are qualified arborists who will inspect the tree and any alleged damage. The tree assessor may provide recommendations to QCAT on the most efficient and fair resolution of the tree dispute.
The tree assessor is a neutral party providing an expert opinion and may be used as an expert witness during any QCAT proceedings.
Any description of QCAT's jurisdiction on this website is general information only and is not intended to precisely define the types of applications that QCAT has the power to decide. QCAT's jurisdiction is determined by the relevant legislation. If you are unsure about your legal rights you should seek legal advice.
