Urgent applications

QCAT understands that situations which impact dramatically on people’s lives happen. Some things QCAT may be able to do include:

  • granting an interim order outlining the short-term decision QCAT has made whilst the proceedings are being heard, and/or
  • granting a stay of the decision, which temporarily stops the original decision being carried out until a final hearing can be held that reviews whether the decision should have been made, and/or
  • making sure the matter is heard quickly which may involve putting aside complying with any formal processes if this is necessary and does not disadvantage or cause prejudice to any party.

To make an application in relation to an urgent situation complete and lodge Form 41 - Application for interim order (PDF, 270.3 KB).
