Call for expressions of interest, Sessional Member, Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal

The Honourable Yvette D’Ath MP, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Leader of the House, seeks expressions of interest for the following roles in QCAT.

  • Appointment as a legally qualified Ordinary Member, on a sessional basis, especially
    in the following areas:
    • Cairns
    • Gold Coast
    • Hervey Bay
    • Ipswich
    • Toowoomba
    • Dalby
    • Mackay
    • Rockhampton
    • Sunshine Coast
    • Townsville.
  • Appointment as a non-legal Ordinary Member, on a sessional basis, especially in Brisbane, with expertise in:
    • medical practice
    • veterinary practice
    • engineering
    • child protection
    • teaching
    • retail shop leases.

An applicant will be eligible for appointment as an ordinary member only if they:

  1. are an Australian lawyer of at least six years standing; or
  2. have, in the Minister’s opinion, special knowledge, expertise or experience relating to a class of matter for which the tribunal may exercise functions.

Formal qualifications in alternative dispute resolution are desirable.
