Changes to our Brisbane facilities

Level 10, 259 Queen St renovationsOur hearing and mediation rooms on Level 10, 259 Queen Street, Brisbane are being renovated to improve our facilities and layout.

These changes will improve our audiovisual facilities for people attending remotely and for those with hearing impairments.

It also includes a larger waiting area that will come as a welcome change for people who, in our annual survey, have expressed preference for parties to have more space to sit apart from one another.

When you exit the Level 10 lifts, you may notice boarding has been placed around the construction areas and contractors will be working onsite.

There may be some noise coming from the works area during the renovations, however disruption to QCAT proceedings will be minimised as much as possible.

To reduce the impact on clients, members and staff, the renovation works were scheduled during QCAT’s mid-year recess period (26 June – 7 July) , however we expect delays to the hearing of some QCAT matters.

We have made alternative arrangements with the Brisbane Magistrates Courts, 363 George Street, Brisbane to hear some QCAT matters during this time.

Please check your notice of hearing or contact your QCAT case manager if you think the alternative hearing arrangements may affect you. Alternatively, please contact us.

Thank you for your understanding while we undertake these improvements to our hearing room facilities.

The renovations are expected to be completed by 1 August 2017.
